Ask your board supplier to apply peelable mask. The additional cost is
minimal, the mask is much more consistent than any hand applied mask so
the edges stay bonded better, and you eliminate the masking time before
assembly.
If you are starting the line in a bare board unloader, add a couple of
strips of mask on the waste rail so the stack of boards sits flat.
