Hi folks - Here is the Element Quiz Question Answer:

The Question:
This element is rare at 1.1 ppm in the earth's crust. Its is very ductile
and feels like lead. It is an additive to the glue on stamps (seriously,
stamps used to have glue and required moistening to stick). What element
is being described?

The Answer:
The element is Europium (Eu)! Europium is one of the rarest of the REEs
and was discovered/named by Eugene Anatole Demarcay, a French Chemist, in
1901. He had found Eu in 1896 but it took 5 long tedious years to separate
Eu from a sample of samarium. Eu was an additive to the glue on postage
stamps enabling electronic sorting machines able to "read" stamps.

The winners of the weekly element quiz are Leland Woodall, CSTech, and
Drew Meyer, Benchmark Electronics, who both provided the correct answer
per the Firewall timestamp (another tie) and they will get the services
of Clumpy and Kloumpios for the week. Kloumpios is still on the mend so
Leland needs to take it easy on him for the week. Clumpy is heading for
Drew's facility and grumbling about how Kloumpios is milking his injury
for all its worth. They both loved Raye Rivera's "Tonguesten" response as
it would have made a great half fractional element.

No Elemental Quiz the next two weeks as Dave is heading on travel and the
boys are going to be lugging his bags around.

So far Clumpy and Kloumpios have done the following:

- Grumpy seems to be able to hold his alcohol very well, but I cannot say

the same for Clumpy (or is it the other way around?). Personally I think
it had to do with one of them enjoying a good traditional meal (photo on
its way thru Steve) before drinking. Then again maybe it was just the
Irish whiskey that got to him. Either way they both seemed to like San
Diego a little too much so I am going to make them help me research NWOs
this week before we all leave for APEX.

Week 48 Brian Ellis
- while Clumpy prepares a bed for flower seeds, light gardening work, I
can give Kloumpios a job downloading video tapes(including San Diego and
Long Beach at the time of IPC meetings in 1996?? and 1999??) for editing;
should be OK for his leg. Has he medication to take? I phoned his family
and they are coming here to see him and his US cousin for the traditional
Sunday souvla, but it will be tomorrow, so that the priest doesn't see
them breaking the Lenten Fast (very serious here) because it's a Cypriot
bank holiday (EOKA Day).

Week 49 Leland Woodall, CSTech
- assisted with ????

Week 49 Drew Meyer, Benchmark Electronics
- assisted with ????

Everyone have a safe week.
