Hi folks - Here is the Element Quiz Question Answer:

The Question:
This element is always found with Rare Earth Elements (REEs). This element

was discovered when mineralogists were looking for tungsten. The color
"red". What element is being described?

The Answer:
The element is Yttrium (Y)! Yttrium was found when Swedish mineralogist,
Bengt Reinhold Geijer, found a coal looking rock in a quarry near Ytterby
Sweden. He sent the rock to Johan Gadolin, a Finnish chemist/mineralogist,
who discovered it contained a new element. Yttrium has one oxide state
(Y2O3) which is used to produce red colors in TVs.

The winner of the weekly element quiz is Leland Woodall, CSTech Inc. and
he will get the services of Clumpy and
Kloumpios for the week. Rumor has it Leland's facility had an ice storm so
the boys put their salt spreader attachments on their tractors and should
be at his place today to assist.

So far Clumpy and Kloumpios have done the following:

- I think I'll have them practice a little baseball & hockey with my son
this week so I don't have to put on the skates or baseball glove.
