Hi folks - Here is the Element Quiz Question (tougher clues this week):
The Question:
This element relates in some manner to this quote: "Opportunity is missed
by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work". The
words "heavy stone". What element is being described?
The Answer:
The element is Tungsten (W)! Tungsten derives its name from the German
"wolfram" and the Swedish "tung sten" which means "heavy stone" - the
naming rights went to the Swedes but they kept the "W" for the symbol.
Tungsten makes an ideal filament for incandescent light bulbs due to its
high melting point. The quote is from Thomas Edison, the inventor of the
light bulb.
The winner of the weekly element quiz is Joe Russeau, Precision Analysts
Laboratory and he will get the services of Clumpy and
Kloumpios for the week. Joe barely edged out Greg Munie for the correct
answer as measured by the Rockwell Collins Firewall timestamps.
So far Clumpy and Kloumpios have done the following:

be any snow in Houston, TX upon their arrival.

- I've got some very important work for the boys this week. I'm going to
ask them to submerge several piles of brush in our local reservoir in
anticipation of the upcoming Spring crappie fishing season.

- I think I'll have them practice a little baseball & hockey with my son
this week so I don't have to put on the skates or baseball glove.
