We use "I. C. Lotion" from R & R Lotion, Scottsdale, AZ USA as Brian describes below. Our only interest is in protecting the inputs of the time domain reflectometer by assuring the wrist strap makes good contact. However, the assembly people use this lotion, the only one permitted, in the soldering area. Louis Hart

Don't forget that any lotion used becomes a contaminant if it gets on the assemblies you are handling. Make sure it is put ONLY under the wrist strap and not on fingers/gloves etc.
Less convenient, perhaps, but there is a lot to be said for ankle straps.
