I also have an SCS precision coat machine.
Your "spray" pressure should be 1-3 psi, your "coating" pressure should be
somewhere around 11-12 psi if you are using the atomizing head. There is
also a fine tune knob on top of the actual valve to fine tune the spray
pattern. If you have to turn the pressure up higher to get it to spray then
it is probably clogged. Dis-assemble and clean. If you are using the
dispensing needle, the "coating" pressure is the only one that needs to be
adjusted and obviously that needs to be controlled to a smooth flow.
