I appreciate the quick responses from everyone. I was able to find one former source among those that were recommended as well as new sources to evaluate.

My source IN THE OLD DAYS had been BMI but I just could not remember the name on my own. It turns out that they were bought out by Laird in 2002. I am constantly amazed at how the big companies just keep buying up the small ones.

The other sources referred today were:

Orbel
Fotofab
Eat Coast Shielding
Tech Etch
Leader Tech
Autosplice (for clips)

Again, thanks.

Phil

Subject: [TN] RF Shield sources for PWAs

I am going through the difficult process of introducing the concept of automated (SMT) shield installation as opposed to manually installed shields with thru hole pins, and hand soldered.

I need some sources for RF shields for PWAs but my experience is with companies that are overseas and therefore non-ITAR. These would be metal stamped and folded shields.

I need a "good" USA source for these shields, preferably one that can build custom low profile one and two piece SMT shields. The initial source I picked (from the internet) was turned down for not having a FOD policy nor some other Quality requirement.

Any help would be appreciated as my memory is not as good as it used to be.

Thanks in advance,

Phil
