It depends how much gold on the surface.  With nowadays, not much (with the price over 1000.00).

You can not harm the gold with any solvent that you can buy in a super market unless it is an abrasive cleaner. No steel wool or wire brush.

Gee, to diminish the discord here, understand these are not A flat finish, but high gloss.  A minor problem, but I would like them to B sharp looking, as they augment the look of the instrument, and sustain it's value.

(Don't fret, Dewey, you're still the head nut here)

And I am sure the IPA idea to improve the sound would work, especially if applied liberally to my audience.


But really, will Naptha harm the Gold?
