In view of what Leland says, if the tuners, whatever they may be in my total ignorance of guitars, need cleaning, take it back to the shop under warranty and either get them to do it or to replace it with one that works.

@Dewey: I don't think you get the score. You are key or instrumental in making me quaver. If you pull the right strings with a better song, I'll let you off with a fine of a tenor.
