Hi Ioan,

I had chrome plated parts laser marked with this material and the resolution and contrast were outstanding. Not sure how it will react with gold over Kovar, but worth a try.

Subject: [TN] Burr ablation

Hello Technos,

We are laser burning fiducial marks on gold plated Kovar shims. Unfortunately, this creates burrs on the periphery of the marks, so machine recognition is not so good. I've tried eraser, wood and plastic sticks in order to eliminate the burrs, but it doesn't work. At best it would flatten them out, completely changing fiducial shape.

Any ideas on how could I get rid of these burrs? Electropolishing is not an option.

Thanks,

Ioan Tempea
