Subject: [TN] IPC-1710A

There were some messages flying around mentioning 1710A with the thread starting with Class 3 assembly inspection.

I talked with staff here and can report the following.

IPC-1710 is still an active standard and it is shown on the IPC Tree. It is in green under the Printed Board / Acceptance. 1710 will be part of the IPC-6012 Qualified Manufacturers List (QML) program now underway. The document is not perfect but it still provides critical board shop capabilities you need to know before you begin the audit/selection process.

So if you are worried about your manufacturer's capabilities start with 1710A and 6012.

Hope this helps.
