For no-clean hand soldering operations, we have recently converted to using a gel flux to better control the amount being dispensed and where it goes.

Subject: [TN] Liquid Flux dispensing

This is an elementary question, but we do a fair bit of hand soldering in some of our assemblies. We use flux bottles with needle nozzles in order to dispense the flux on the board. I'd like to control how much flux is dispensed. I know training is paramount, but in my effort to give the operators tools to do their job more effectively, can anyone point me to items to look at? I know about flux pens and we do use them as well, but was just wondering what others might be using.
