I only have seen some "suspected" occurrence of this.

Somewhat dependant on how much is deposited, was the tape baked, and if you have an aromatic solvent based coating. The latter can extract some adhesive from the tape perimeter.

You can however use Si based tape and never have issues.

I personally think that is tendency to over react to the term silicone.  That is due to hand-soldering where we all learn that silicone hand lotions hamper solderability (which they can), and older Si Ccings that use some rather obsolete cure catalyst mechanisms.

Do you think the silicone adhesive on Kapton and Shercon tapes can create a manufacturing issue during conformal coating or for sensitive electronics?
