Subject: [TN] adhesive coated wire for rework

Many years ago at another company for rework and ECOs we used adhesive coated wire which was bonded to the card by running a special iron with a notched tip along its length. It was a neat, clean, easily reworkable alternative to Tak Pak. Recently I ran into an application where this might have worked nicely, but in asking around I couldn't find anyone who's using this technology. I know the wire was of course more expensive and another comment was that it was large and maybe more difficult to find in smaller gauges. Is anyone using adhesive coated insulated wire and what are / were your experiences with it? Is it suitable for high-rel applications?
