Rockwell has given me Kevlar Shirts and Asbestos Underwear. Nothing much

Tch, tch, tch; such a lack of respect for a fine and upstanding colleague,
and a pillar of the electronics industry. The man gets kicked around,
slandered, told he is wrong at every turn when he is actually correct, and
everyone attempts to use him as a pincushion. Yet he goes on steadfast and
firm in his belief that he is correct, never frustrated nor distracted.
Certainly all of this negative publicity does make manifest the man's good
qualities.

OK, I'm going to play the Doug card: I protest that others were honored
that year for work in transuranic elements and the controversy caused the
name of the element held in limbo till 74. Curium is one of those elements
and 1951 was the first, if not only year it was made into a metal. Being a
metallurgist (other than pushing Metallica and Iron Maiden music), I
thought that would be key to you. Another plus to upholding my challenge,
besides recognizing the clever humor, is the chance to stick another pin
in the little Doug doll.

The Question:
Only one clue - the 1951 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. What is the element?
The Answer:
The element is Seaborgium (Sg). Seaborgium was named in honor of nuclear
chemist Glen T. Seaborg. There are 16 known isotopes of Sg with half lives
ranging from 2.9 milliseconds to 22 seconds. All of the isotopes are
artificially produced.
The winner of the weekly element quiz is Denny Fritz and he will get the
services of Clumpy and Kloumpios after they spend their US July 4th
holiday in Cedar Rapids. The Friday Element Quiz Arbitration Board
(FEQAB) has tabled Doug's response of McMillianium since he is technically
correct that Edwin McMillian did also receive the 1951 Nobel Prize in
Chemistry. FEQAB has requested clarification from the International Union
of Pure and Applied Chemistry
(IUPAC) located in Oxford England since it is IUPAC that officially
approves the naming of the elements. The IUPAC assured the FEQAB that they
would give the request serious consideration but considering it took 12
years to resolve the elemental names for 104-107, Doug may be waiting
awhile.

- Tell the boys to be prepared for helping do FOD walks at one of my
suppliers. I bet when the employees at this supplier see these 2 guys on
the FOD walk it will get their attention and help raise awareness of the
importance of preventing FOD.

-I need them to help me start-up a new (used) Vitronics/Soltec wave
machine we recently got here. It's gonna' be fun (if that's what you want
to call it), we have to fill the Vitronics with a tin wash so we can get
the wave formers and nozzles out, clean everything up, and then empty the
pot. Then we've got to empty the pot in the old Electrovert machine that
we have and have that solder ready for the Vitronics. Then we'll play
musical wave machines by moving the Electrovert and placing the Vitronics
where it was sitting, then we'll fill the Vitronics again.
