Technetters, I have some unpopulated boards, each with a damaged 250-micron surface mount pad. The damaged pad can be, I am told, repaired. My concern is the surface finish: ENIG. Presumably the replacement pad will not have that finish. Is there a way to apply ENIG to the replacement pad? IPC-4552 amendment 2 proscribes electroplated gold for rework or repair of ENIG. Thanks for any help.
