Follow the shoes.

Textiles and shoes go to the low cost areas.
Some have already left China.

SME website loaded with this type of discussion.

In my life time China has gone from a failed "Great Leap Forward" and
"Cultural Revolution" to a society that can have the concerns Inge has high
lighted. This has been one of the great feats in improving the living
standard of a society beyond recognition. Each of the last 3 generations
would not recognize their parents childhood. Rural areas have a way to go
still.

Peak working age population is next year. One child policy has had a
substantial affect on demographics. The darker side of the policy is
starting to show up.

Stolen IP has launched cities and fortunes around the world for centuries.
I worked in a city named for an IP thief. Silk, rice, textiles, steel,
nuclear weapons all have had thefts, many punishable by death if caught.
The question is how fast original IP is added for long term competition.
