By the time the Moon exerts a local gravitational effect greater than the
Earth's, it is moments to collision..
The alternative is a fast low orbit that rips the earth and the moon apart.
You would have company flying to the moon. Like flying in the middle of an
EF5 tornado. The landfill is flying with you.
