I am looking for help on what people think is a good masking tape / dot
for conformal coating processing. Right now our services around the
world are really struggling to find a suitable tape that does everything
they want. They did have a great tape from a well known company but
production problems has meant it has been withdrawn. The wish list for
our operators is

1. Sticks well enough not to lift with too much time (avoids bleed under
the tape)
2. Doesn't stick too much so the component is ripped off with the masking
3. Doesn't leave a residue when removed (we wont apply heat to the tape
so can ignore that)
4. Dont need to buy 5 years stock of each different size due to crazy
min order needs
5. Prefer not to have a backing tape as a real pain
6. I would like to say ESD friendly but all the tapes we have tried that
are ESD are awful. But we will see?
7. Plastic (polyamide or something) tape and not paper. Paper lies too
thick on the surface and causes de-masking issues if coating is applied
to the correct thickness.

We can compromise since I know this is what will happen but what do
operators use out there and find a good solution?
