Ioan,
I used Aegis in my former employment and one thing that became frustrating is the inability to determine where in the factory a defect was created. As an example, if you dump all "solder bridge" defects into one bucket, you can't discriminate if they occurred at SMT, Wave, Hand Solder, etc. I would create as many defect types categorically, as you can always put them together in one lump afterwards if needed. It's almost impossible or difficult at least, to separate them out after the fact.

Subject: [TN] Cable, mechanical and coating defects
Dear Technos,
I'm setting the quality module in our Aegis system. All OK at PCB assembly, but I need suggestions regarding the defects to be logged in the cable, mechanical assembly, test and coating departments.
Any standard covering this? Of course, your personal input would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
