New pot and pumps cost over $30k.
There may be some control worked required with the change.
The better choice would have been to purchase a used tin/lead machine.
Steve wasn't there at the time to chime in.
When a new pot is considered a new machine from VS China is ~$90k depending
on options.

My last manager wished I had bought a new machine for him but he liked the
price for inherited equipment as I had a new pot to set up the machine as
lead free. Cheap can cost you pain.
He liked cheap but not the pain.
