Similar my experience, except I got 4 requests from Inge to old email
addresses we have used in the past, and then several reminders , so I also
invited Inge to join my Linked in net.
I am not sure what value the endorsement thing is, I have been endorsed 99%
by people that know me and I do endorse people back and do select the people
I endorse and do so appropriately when I am on the phone or something.
Clearly I won't be putting too much weight on endorsements, but I think
recommendations probably are meaningful.
I have found Linked- In useful and the Groups can sometimes be good. I
joined a number at first, but those that are polluted by advertising, and
non group activities I leave.
I would think Linked in would be useful for people seeking employment, and
understand some companies have blocked linked in for that reason

Regards

So far I have only seen endorsements from people I actually know & have
actually worked with.
However, I have received multiples from a few people which has me wondering
what is up with that?
I have not used my contact list with LI either.
However with respect to Inge on this forum I had received an invite twice
now from him supposedly from
LI, however it was to my work email and not the email I have set up with LI.
So I did not respond to those and sent him an invite myself directly from LI
with a note that if it had not
been him that really sent invite just discard this one. So if Inge did not
originally send an invite then
I would also agree either someone imported addresses or something else is
going on.

What I have noticed is many people "endorsing" me for skills.
Why would anyone bother to do that?
Do they get something out of it?
How do they know what I am truly skilled at, anyway?
(I haven't worked with any of these people) Has anyone else noticed this?

Jack
