As an addendum to my previous note on how to undo unwanted recommendations -

I recently LinkedIn with a head-hunter. .... okay, so that was not the first mistake I made that day..

This person subsequently gave me a truckload full of [totally uninformed] endorsements.

I wrote back a very polite note that I was going to delete most, if not all of them, based on my perception of how well we each other at that point in time, but that I was also keeping the door wide open for more learning for both of us, of the other's capabilities.

I received a mildly caustic note back indicating that they had already pulled the endorsements and were also breaking the connection. It was their view that 'endorsements' were similar to "Likes" .... of that 'other' media.

     Eh! Good riddance!

The LinkedIn guru that I had contacted previously, said that it was his belief that endorsements were not intended to be similar to "Likes".

I guess that people are confusing the medias, but I believe the LinkedIn system promotes the confusion by coming out and asking people to endorse others.

My two bits on a dead subject

Craig / All,

I received this from a "LinkedIn guru" regarding unsolicited Endorsements on Linked In, and how to remove them.

"Log into your account and then click on Profile at the top of the page.
You then need to click on "Edit Profile." Once you get to the screen where you can edit your profile, scroll down the page to endorsements or skills & experience. Click the little pencil icon that allows you to edit that section. Then click on "Manage Endorsements." That will reveal a screen where you can remove endorsements from whomever you choose.
