Nickel sulfamate is pretty standard pattern electroplate on circuit boards. For sure used for plating under the gold on finger connections. Nickel chloride and nickel sulfate are industrial plating solutions. Electroless nickel is different and is used because the circuits for final finish are discontinuous, and you cannot use electroplate solutions once the circuit traces are etched apart.
