We've just run across a customer's redesign of a PWB adding 0402 resistors. The product has been built for years with a glue and wave process for 0603's to 1210's to IPC-A-610, class 3.

I don't think we can reliably dispense adhesive between pads this close.
Printing adhesive may be an option, but the stencil thickness may limit volume applied for the larger parts.
Finally, we may get solder bridging with 0402's in the wave.

Does anyone have experience with a glue and wave process on 0402's?
