We stopped tinning wires in Euro terminals years ago after nearly re-creating the great Chicago fire with a product in a store.  Not sure if that's what caused it, but it was a possibility.  We have recently started using the spring loaded terminals.  They can be tricky to use without breaking the little levers, but the constant pressure over the life of the product is kind of nice when they are buried in concrete floors.
