Short answer: Yes, why not.
Long answer: It depends...........how the stencil is treated. If you use the
proper squeegee pressure, if you clean it well regularly, if you don't drop
tools on it, if you don't bang it against hard objects, you don't use a
screwdriver to clean apertures, etc.
I have seen stencils returned where I could see the pattern of runs of the
circuit board pressed into the stainless steel. Obviously the squeegee
pressure had been too high. Some came back with tears in the mesh (and in my
eye) and many times you could find dings and dents in the metal. So, misuse
is the worst enemy of a long stencil life.

Ahne.

Subject: [TN] Stencil Life...

Hi all!

First, let me wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. I think that all of us can
sit back and be thankful for something in our lives, no matter how small it
is, and that's what this day is all about.

Now to my question; how long, or what is the useful life of a stainless
steel stencil? I know there is a lot of "It depends" that will figure into
the answer. But seem to recall someone telling me that a stencil should last
for 10,000 prints...I think I remember Bob Gillings of SMT (before Alpha
bought him out) telling me that.

What do you think? Should a stencil last that long?

Steve
