I agree, pre-tin the stainless steel part with a very strong flux intended 
for stainless steel, then wash it thoroughly.

Torsten,

The last time I did this type of thing I did the following:

Pre-tin S/S soldering areas with the same solder metallurgy as your solder 
paste using a very active acid flux (I used a hydrobromic acid type flux), 
wash thoroughly, then place on PCB like regular component and/or RF 
shield...

Some adjustment need to be made depending (that word again...) on the 
joint configuration and part...

has anybody experience with soldering stainless steel parts directly on a 
PCB? What solder process work fine?

Application is a medical sensor with body contacts.
