We've got some electrolytic caps that are taking on a re-striking voltage when they're heated up during adhesive cure. We need to drain the voltage before wave solder to avoid letting the magic smoke out of nearby components when the molten solder briefly shorts everything. I've been asked to design a station to do this at a conveyor just before the solder pot. I can certainly do that, but it bothers me to add custom equipment to the line for such a non-value added thing. The board will be installed in a housing already, so I won't have access to the caps from the top, only from the bottom through the pallet openings.

Has anyone come up with a clever solution to this? Maybe something in the board or pallet design to drain the charge?
