We use Pin In Paste on many automotive products. Some things that come to mind are:
- Controlling the pin to hole ratio. Keep it between 0.3 - 0.5
- Limiting the lead protrusion to 1.5mm maximum
- No 'kinked' leads in the PTH, straight leads only
