Subject: [TN] NTC Friday Element Quiz - the Answer

Hi folks - Here is the Friday Element Quiz Question:

The Question:

This element is essential to life. Erupting volcanoes produce this
element. This element is part of most automobiles but we really don't want

to utilize its specific application. This element has two naturally
occurring isotopes. What element is being described?

The Answer:

The element ins Nitrogen (N)! Nitrogen comprises 78% of the air we breath
so if the % level rose a few points higher, we would all perish. Nitrogen
is also a key part of our DNA and of many amino acids. Sodium azide (NaN3)
is the explosive used in airbags in automobiles. Nitrogen has hundreds of
industrial uses - from inert atmosphere to low temperature cooling
applications.

The winner of the weekly element quiz is Joshua Muonio, Analog
Technologies Corp, and he will get the services of Clumpy and
Kloumpios for the week. Joshua - let me know where your facility is
located and the boys will make plans to arrive at your place this weekend.
The Friday Element Quiz Arbitration Board (FEQAB) reviewed Doug's
submission and again disqualified him. The reason for the disqualification
was due to the confusion concerning Smokium's isotopes. Smokium has three
isotopes - Ashium, Sootium and Dustium. There is a strong prevailing
theory the Dustium is the isotope with the longest half life as it can be
found accumulating in sufficient quantities requiring removal from the
average household on a daily basis using vacuum cleaners. It is
understandable why Doug would not be knowledgeable on Dustium - his wife
has decreed that dust is not allowed in their house.
