Can you build with 2 oz power and 2 oz ground on the same core?. If you can run half ounce signal planes together on the next core - great.

Hi All,
Thanks to all who have responded. Perhaps I should add that this is a
2-layer PCB, and the 2 oz Copper layer will be used for Power/Ground
nly. The signal layers will be 1/2 oz thick.

e: [TN] Core with uneven Copper foil thickness

avinder;
Although uneven copper thicknesses on a core are more common that one
ould expect, 1/2 oz. versus 2 oz. can cause some issues during the
tching process, depending on trace pitch and tolerances. One would need
o see the gerber files to determine if it would be an issue.
There are ways to get around this issue on Multilayer flex, but if this is
ust a double layer flex it has to be addressed. There are techniques,
sing a combination of additive/subtractive processes, to build up
hickness during processing on just one side. Again, the trace widths and
olerances can influence this type of processing.

ubject: [TN] Core with uneven Copper foil thickness
Hi,
We are considering a layer stackup which uses Cores with uneven Copper
oil thickness. Copper on one side is 1/2 oz and on the other side is 2
z. Apart from the availability/cost considerations are there other
ssues with using such a Core.
I will appreciate the opinions of experts on this.
Thanks.
