Hi Jack,

We're  having some trouble with Technet and listserv right now. I've contacted Lsoft, Listserv's vendor for some ideas as to what is causing  the sluggishness. As for searching, a general search taxes the server's resources, so the more specific you can be, particularly narrowing the dates, helps bring up the results faster. Because Technet has been around for such a long time and has many postings, archiving and indexing the posts for such a big list taxes the server.

You can get helpful hints by clicking on the green question mark icons next to the fields in the search window to make  your searches return better and more accurate results.

Has anyone else had trouble searching the TechNet Archives?
My last few searches reported "zero results" and I was just
assuming my interests were obscure and trivial, but just now
I tried to search for the word "flux" and got zero hits. wha...?

So I tried the same search in Google Chrome instead of Internet
Explorer, and got a Server Error 502.

I can't help but wonder how many people have looked for
something and assumed we've never discussed it.
How likely is THAT? (smile)
