Being a Man for all Seasons (ahead of my thyme and it is almost X-mas) and a giver of sage advice: if it's not worth a plug nickel, then it's not fit to print.

Subject: [TN] Nickel Stencils

We, like most everyone I know, have traditionally used stainless stencils for our printing process. Our stencil house recently made a stencil for us using Nickel material, which has a much finer grain and is supposed to aid in better paste release. Has anyone used Nickel stencils and can you offer any feedback on them?

Our operators noticed:

* The mirror-like finish made it somewhat difficult to ensure board/stencil alignment

* It was difficult to print. Meaning more pressure was needed to get the paste to roll as is normally does on a stainless stencil.

* It was difficult to clean (mid process cleaning and wiping)

Any one else have any thoughts on them?
