"Necessary" seems like a rather elastic word. Once upon a time it wasn't 
"necessary" to have more than 64K of memory in a PC and are touch 
screens on a mobile phone "necessary"?

Believe me, if we could use 01005 caps in the things I design (made by 
the million for mobile phones) we'd be using them!

Just musing on a Friday afternoon....
