You can use these printed Carbon pads instead of gold pads/meanders for push buttons, Inge. Picture the following situation:
Your assembly has lots of compliant pin press fit connectors, that's why some wise men try to avoid ENIG for some reason, but you have to have push buttons since you are designing a mechatronic product. Immersion tin (or even Pb-free HASL, which has other issues with press fit) + printed carbon pads may then be a competitive compromise in case you can reach the required numbers of switch cycles with Carbon. Carbon pads do not work reliably in sliding switch applications (ENIG probably doesn't either) but for push buttons I have seen industrial and even automotive applications.
