Howard,

I've got the Ge alert at least 3 times in 5 years and had to add some SnGe pellets in the pot. Unfortunately I don't know the underlying reasoning.

Good Morning Technetters.

It is believed by our industry that SN100C suffers from nickel depletion (which necessitates adding nickel back into the alloy).  The nickel comes at .05%.  When it reaches .03%, it fails to function as a grain refiner.  Also, the germanium is supposed to deplete, necessitating adding germanium back into the alloy.  Is anybody aware of the specific studies that reference the nickel and germanium depletion?
