Sue,
Epoxy down the part, solder one end, and add a wire from the end with no pad such that the circuit is restored. Then tack down the wire. I use #36 magnet wire.
At least that is how I would make a simple repair.

I have a circuit card with a missing chip component pad. There is no trace to the pad, but there is a via under pad. How do I put a new pad down and ensure continuity from the pad to the via?
