Yes!

Technet is for exchange of "hard" technical information and does so 
admirably, the best forum I've ever come across.

LinkedIn is for making contacts and getting jobs/customers etc, the 
"soft" bits of business.

Twitter and FB is for keeping up with your pals.

Word of warning about Twitter and FB, you should never put anything on 
there about your work that you don't want the whole world to know about 
because on those forums, the whole world can...
