A green PCB would probably make the output color more "Greenish".
Reflections from lens and cover bounce some light back to the board.

White is not green. Sure it would be more pricey. If you look at display
color chart, depend upon the background, you might get imbalance of RGB. As
for thermal: if the white is TiO2 filler, sure it impact the thermal. You
pay for what you get: cheap, high performance, reliability, select two only.
