Many thanks for the rely, Dewey. I was getting kind of lonely here on
this one.

#1 AABUS - yes just typed too quick.

#2 Not sure who the customer is (if any) at this point. One of my site
engineers just posed a generic question to me.

#3 IPC coating committee feedback - most definitely. I can't see to find
much of a mention of this topic in the currently active 830 handbook
revision. Seem to think/hope that this would at the very least be in the
upcoming revision of the handbook. Don't see/recall it in the current
sections we've reviewed at our teleconferences to date, but will try to
remember to bring this up in the next teleconference from consideration
of some type of inclusion.

Again just trying to gather some industry thoughts on this one, ...
appreciate all that come in.

First there are two As in AABUS; second, it not a requirement that can
be readily specified, because of over-riding customer inputs, whether
knowledgeable or not, hence the AABUS; and third in some cases I may be
your customer so we should talk off-line. Some of this should be feed
back to Doug Pauls and others who work with coating-related issues.

Subject: [TN] One of the elephants in the coating room/area ....

IPC J Std-001 indicates in section 10.1.2.2 that unless ABUS,
essentially all components need to be coated with no dewetting or pull
back. This is normally not an issue until you get that few lots of
plastic components that have some Si release agent on them. Most well
versed in coating are well aware this transient phantom and associated
grief.

Is anyone aware of any industry specification or supplier FAQ, white
paper, etc. that speaks about the challenges that release agents
occasionally pose to coating ?

Thanks in advance

Rich Kraszewski/ Plexus
