Need more information.....

-are all holes exhibiting the problem?
-do the micro sections look ok?
-it is just topside insufficient type problems?
-have you soldered a previous batch of the same part number without issue?
-is this ENIG?
-what is your definition of "hard to solder"?
-are you hand soldering, or wave soldering?

Phil

Subject: [TN] Poor gold plating, any solution to help soldering

Hello technetters,

We received a batch of PCBs that are extremely hard to solder. The wetting
on the SMT components is fine however, the through hole is a real pain. We
tried rubbing the pads with an eraser but no results.

If the problem comes from too little gold plating, is there a solution to
help with soldering?

Thank you!

(BTW... for those who answered on the stencil issue. I'll send questions when
I put out some other fires!!!)

Jean-François
