Michael,
The twists per inch are selected to limit crosstalk between pairs. If
you don't have a crosstalk requirement you would select the one twist
per 6 inches depending your needs. You could also run them with no twist
and use tubing or shrink tubing.

Does IPC/WHMA-A-620 specify how many twists per inch you should have
when you twist the wires in a cable assembly(like a twisted pair)
instead of using tie wraps or lacing? 
I was unable to find anything.  Thank you.
