I have also seen where we stockpiled the particular x-out by panel
location so that they could all be run at the same time.

Another option was to punch out the fiducials on the x-outs and have the
pick and place recognize which to populate.

We typically always had four up ABAB configuration panels and only one
x-out was ever allowed.

Our typical stance is no X-out on low board count arrays (generally
fewer than 4 boards per array). For higher part count arrays no more
than 2 x-outs per array and no more than 10% of ordered quantity in
x-outs.

Subject: [TN] X-Out Policy

These is a debate currently raging on internally on whether or not to
allow X-outs on panelized assemblies. I am of the opinion to not allow
any X-outs as this entails manual intervention on the line to not
populate that particular board (we have not programmed any bad board
sense into our programs), and to a lesser extent, leads to solderpaste
wastage. Furthermore, to me, accepting X-outs means accepting a more
variable (if not a out of control) process at the board house. However,
I want to to hear to any opinions otherwise if any

What is the industry doing as a whole regarding X-outs?

Thanks,
Amol
