I assume you are hoping for a low skill = low risk suggestion. Others may
know better, but all I can offer is that in former times a skilful operator
would do this sort of assembly by hand. Dot each pad with paste or run a
thin stripe down pads. A decent paste will wet on to the pads without
leaving balls/bridges.
Assemble parts, preferable with some sort of fixturing to maintain x-y
alignment and then run an iron along the bond line.
