Actually o-rings are to keep the lids from touching the rollers and present a uniform diameter for rolling...
I never thought about the traction thing...
I may have some car modelers donating their used tires if they read this...

Hmm! Never had that problem.
The most recent one is still rollin'
Must have been a jar-lid malfunction...
I can see how the o-rings will increase the 'traction' between the rollers
and objects being rolled.
Proper material/stock turnover is really the ideal way to go.
