Thx to exclude the kooium from the dummynium.
The known reactivity of Dummynium: become self destructive if combined with social media substance.

As a material scientist, I feel it my duty to step in here.

Dummynium and Kooium are two different materials with radically different properties.

Dummynium comes from the raw ore called dopeite. It seems to be found in exceptionally high concentrations in Washington DC, though it has been reported in high levels in Brussels as well. The refining process, coincidentally called "elections", refines the dopeite into dummynium. Refined dummynium has been shown to drop IQ levels by 50% or more and seems to initiate odd sexual behavior in the male of the species. Estrogen seems to reduce this side effect. Unfortunately, dummynium has varying half lives, the most common being 30 years.

Kooium, in contrast exists in nature as a highly refined element. No oxidative or corrosive states have been found. And in the known samples of Kooium, no physical degradation has been noted in the first 100 years. Kooium has been considered a potential cure for dummynium as it increases IQ level. A remarkably stable compound, though somewhat rare, except in Canada. The only known side effect is the cause the speaker to drop critical words from sentences from time to time.

Dave,

I believe the element you are quizzing us on is ruba-dub-Dubnium, but it
seems to have progressed through the names Dubnium 1968, Neilsbohrium 1970,
Hahnium 1970, Joliotium (recommended) 1994, and finally back to Dubnium in
1997.

Boy these guys need to get a life...

Element 105 - Dubnium was synthesized by a Soviet team in 1968
was re-synthesized by the same Soviet team in 1970, and called Neilsbohrium
Element 105 - Hahnium was synthesized by A US team in 1970
The name Joliotium was recommended in 1994
The name Dubnium was finally accepted in 1997

Subject: [TN] NTC Friday Element Quiz - the Question

Hi folks - Here is the Friday Element Quiz Question (this one may take
some sleuthing so the quiz is going out early):

The Question:

This element has a very contentious history pertaining to who actually
first discovered it. This element has been produced by bombarding
americium-243 with neon-22 atoms and bombarding californium-249 with
nitrogen-15 atoms. The element was "finally" named in 1997. The longest
lived isotope of this element has a half life of 34 seconds.

Bonus Question: List the two names that were used for this element prior
to 1997.

The quiz winner will get the services of Clumpy and Kloumpios for the
week.

So far Clumpy and Kloumpios have:

Week 1 Lamar Young, SCS Coatings
- accomplished nothing (drank lots of coffee)

Week 2 Bev Christian, RIM
- conducted REACH material testing

Week 3 Drew Meyer, Benchmark Electronics Inc.
- Solderability testing and mowed the lawn

Week 4 Ian Fox, Goodrich
- had an epic journey of travel

Week 4 Gary Ferrari, Garrick Global
- unknown

Week 5 Fredrick Miller, Astrolab
- unknown

Week 6 David Nelson, Raytheon
- Were tackling dummys for Dallas Cowboys

Week 7 Graham Collins, L3 Communications
- Cleaned gutters and painted window trim

Week 8 Bill Noel, ITT Geospatial Systems Division
- unknown

Week 9 Steve Gregory of RD Circuits
- unknown

Week 10 David Bealer of Watchfire Signs
- descaled the in-line wash machine! Ouch!

Week 11 Dick Krug of Sparton Corporation
- assisted with AS9100 quality management systems requirements audit

Week 12 Steve Creswick of Balanced Enterprise Solutions
- Acted as Steve's "go fer" due to a broken leg!

Week 13 Gebhard Neifer, Delphi
- conducted a plasma pre treatment Taguchi DOE for a sealing process

Week 14 Bev Christian, RIM
- assisted with a tin pest investigation/test

Week 15 Bev Christian, RIM
- assisted Bev shoveling snow

Week 16 David Bealer of Waatchfire Signs
- assisted with reflow profiling

Week 17 Brian Ellis, rumored to be retired
- assisted with rewiring the house, had a tractor accident and found
his cousin Kloumpios

Week 18 Denny Fritz, SAIC
- assisted with tin whisker inspection/examinations

Week 19 Graham Collins, L3 Communications
- assisted with scraping barnacles, boat paint and boat engine
maintenance

Week 20 Mark Woolley, PTRL Laboratory Avaya
- assisted with weather observations (70F to snow) and resolving
electrochemical migration failures

Week 20 Tom Carroll, Boeing Defense, Space and Security
- assisted with commercial aircraft galley inspection

Week 21 Brian Ellis, supposedly retired, and Tom Carroll, Boeing Defense,
Space and Security
- assisted with root cause corrective action tasks
- assisted with nothing but catching up with the family

Week 22 Drew Meyer, Benchmark Electronics Inc.
- assisted with metallographic cross-sections and Dye & Pry testing

Week 23 Bev Christian, RIM
- assisted with a creep corrosion project and the setting up of an oxygen
bomb

Week 24 Steve Gregory, RD Circuits
- assisted with ?????

Everyone have a great weekend.
