I have a question regarding packaging ESD sensitive components that are on Tape & Reel. Shouldn't all ESD labeled devices be kept in a ESD bag when shipped to a customer or EMS provider?

Currently the Reels are not placed in an ESD bag and are being sent in a standard cardboard box with several other reels and components.
Some of the material in the box are static generators, plastic and paper and whatever else you can fit in the box....

This is something I would not allow at my former company but this is a common practice at my new company. They tell me even the component suppliers do not ship the parts in ESD bags, when the part has the ESD label on it.

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Scott
