Craig,
We have been using the products from Shercon with good results. The green
polyester tape is what we have been using and it seems to work well with
both Humiseal 1B31 and Humiseal 1H20AR1. It has a max temp of 400F, but
that is well above most coating cure steps I know of.

They also sell this green tape in rolls of squares and round dots of
varying sizes. In a couple years of use, we have had no problems with
residues or left behind adhesive.

Subject
[TN] Conformal Coat tape

Well, I suppose this is a repeat from a few years ago when Humiseal
stopped selling their conformal coat tape and left everyone searching for
alternatives.

Recap: Humiseal HT-500 tape was manufactured exclusively for Humiseal by
St. Gobain. The St. Gobain part number is M797. St. Gobain had numerous
quality issues and as such Humiseal ceased the line. St. Gobain continues
to manufacture the tape. We had continued to use the St. Gobain part with
minor quality problems here and there. We decided to live with the issues
because the tape works so well with our Acrylic coating.

Fast forward to today: St. Gobain decided to put the tape on a liner to
correct various issues they and other customers had. Problem is we now see
excessive residue left on the boards as well as the rolls falling apart if
we're not careful with handling. They've also scaled back production and
as such the lead times have quadrupled.

So, my question is can anyone share what they use with their acrylic
coatings? We use a boat load of this stuff so I need to find a seamless
replacement.

Thank you,
Craig Sullivan
