Here you go, Jim. Rigid badge holders with clips, and dissipative.

No problem. Charge the operator $10 to replace badges that are less than 1 year old.
And/or seal the badge holders along the edges of the badge but leave a little bit of excess material outside of the seal so they become ineffective as ice scrapers.

Well thanks, Uncle Richard, but you haven't solved my dilemma. You see, occasionally these badges will get bent, or perhaps occasionally used as an ice scraper, causing the antenna filament embedded in the badge to break. What I'm looking for is a hard plastic, ESD-safe badge holder which can withstand the occasional misuse. I can find soft, pliable, ESD-safe holders and hard plastic, non-ESD-safe holders, but not hard plastic ESD-safe holders.

Thanks again for your response... keep thinking.

Simply take the ESD-safe document holders, cut them down to 4 quadrants of the desired size, place them in a bag sealer and seal the cut sides except for one side (located on top). Let that side be a little longer. Then place the badge into the new holder and seal the last side. Punch a hole in the fourth side and compress an eyelet in the hole, then add the snap or neck cord. Voila! ESD-safe badge holders.
Aren't you glad Uncle Richard is watching out for you?

Subject: [TN] ESD safe ID Badge Holders

Hello Technetters:
With electronic scanning devices being incorporated into ID badges, continually replacing damaged badges can be time consuming and expensive. I've been looking for an ESD-safe, hard plastic, transparent badge holder/protector, but haven't had any success. There are many ESD-safe vinyl holders, but I feel that these won't add much protection against flexing, which is a problem with the electronic badges. Has anyone found such a product?
